Insurance Liaison
POSITION SUMMARY:
To support insurance claims processing for the Agency and departmental staff; interact with the Home Care Coordinator, Admission Coordinator, clinical and billing staff member, and insurance case manager/representative to ensure timely processing of insurance information and claims.
EDUCATION:
Associates Degree in Business Administration or a healthcare related field suggested but not required.
EXPERIENCE:
Computer and keyboard skills. At least 2 years of experience in medical management, medical claims processing, or managed care environment required.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Demonstrates effective interaction and communication (oral, writing, presenting) skills. Ability to work accurately and pay attention to details. Often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to function competently in stressful situations and a changing work environment related to changing patient needs, including working with patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes and those who are dying. Ability to work cooperatively within the health-system; with patients and family members; and with multidisciplinary team members (i.e., physicians, HCC, clinical managers, etc.). Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Ability to use critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills to effectively problem-solve and deliver care.
