The Institutional Research Associate will join a highly collaborative and supportive OIRA team working under the supervision of the Associate Provost for Assessment and Chief Data Officer. The position requires someone who is detail oriented, comfortable working with data, a problem solver, a team player, and open to learning. This position is ideal for an individual with 1 year of experience and a background in social science or survey research. This position has some flexibility for a hybrid remote schedule to be determined with the selected candidate.

Primary Responsibilities:

Coordinating Institutional Surveys and Assessment

  • Manage the institutional license for Qualtrics and provide support for institutional community
  • Manage a suite of yearly internal and external surveys
  • Design and implement surveys and assessments for programs and student learning outcomes
  • Support assessment, data collection, and reporting across institutional units (e.g., academic/student learning outcomes, Student Success, and Student Affairs)

Institutional Support in Enabling Data Driven, Strategic Decision Making

  • Serve as a representative for the OIRA across institutional committees
  • Help maintain and improve internal institutional dashboards in Tableau

Responding to Internal and External Data Requests

  • Coordinate weekly admissions, enrollment, and re-registration reports
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests by organizing, cleaning, and ensuring data accuracy
  • Offer leadership on IPEDS reporting by serving as the IPEDS keyholder
  • Support institutional partners in fulfilling data requests related to accreditation and compliance

Data Accessibility and Dissemination

  • Help OIRA maintain data that can be easily used in presentations
  • Assist OIRA in implementing a plan to provide strategic updates on institutional surveys and data (e.g., National Survey of Student Engagement)
  • Support the development of Tableau dashboards that can be used to answer commonly asked questions

Data Efficiency and Management

  • Supporting the maintenance and improvement of the OIRA’s data warehouse system
  • Collaborate to improve data storage, reporting, and visualization
  • Collaborate to improve efficiency in responding to data requests

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; 1+ years of experience in a field related to social science or survey research preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables)
  • Basic knowledge of online survey platforms (e.g., Survey Monkey, Qualtrics)
  • Familiarity with higher education preferred; familiarity with institutional research a plus
  • Basic knowledge of R preferred
