Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Perform IE department quantitative and qualitative analysis activities.

2. Use various statistical and software packages (primarily SPSS programming code and scripts) to assist with identifying, accessing, extracting, and merging data from various internal and external sources to create analytic databases.

3. Develop and maintain IE survey item repository.

4. Design and create surveys utilizing Qualtrics survey application.

5. Assist with the design, implementation, analysis and reporting of all University-wide assessments.

6. Develop and conduct QC of all analyses and reporting.

7. Assist with the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs to enhance IE department staff’s quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.

8. Provide consultation to co-curricular and curricular departments in developing surveys and analyzing data.

9. Build and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards for use by various stakeholders.

10. Assist with data collection and analysis leading up to the completion of compliance reports.

11. Provide data analyses or reports as needed for internal use and/or external use.

12. Other tasks as assigned by the Vice Provost of Institutional Effectiveness and Research/or Director of Analytics.

13. Remain abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services, and leading industry performance benchmarks.

14. Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.

Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies

Four-year college degree (Master’s preferred), with a concentration in a quantitative discipline, 1+ years in higher education with a relevant combination of assessment, data analysis, and institutional research experience. Demonstrated competency can be considered equivalent where appropriate.

Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Excellent computer and organizational skills. Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
