Provides excellent customer service to all customers through sales skills and prompt and courteous service, completing each transaction in a quick and efficient manner minimizing delays to the internal or external customers. Supports the showroom, warehouse, receiving, and embroidery areas with operational tasks such as shipping, receiving, picking/packing, retail sales, administrative duties, and stocking.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain personal established customer accounts.
  • Assist with OSA accounts, house accounts, and crossover accounts.
  • Assist Outside Sales Associates with general clerical support.
  • Execute customer orders, quotes, bids, proposals.
  • Communicate with the headquarters accounting and purchasing departments for invoice, payment, ordering, and vendor questions as needed.
  • Assist in showroom with customer walk-ins, showroom sales of individuals and departmental customers with fitting, measuring, order entry, and Point of Sale transactions. In addition, assists with fittings customer for ballistic vests.
  • Assist in managing showroom inventory, organizing, setting up displays.
  • Assists in the warehouse with in picking orders and completing inventory transfers.
  • Processes customer payments by check or credit card in person or over the phone.
  • Addresses issues regarding items shipped in error (miss ships), returns, issues with vendors as received in warehouse.
  • Attends to the Outside Sales Associate’s return authorizations for the Richmond showroom, Richmond Warehouse, or completing vendor returned to be sent to the manufacturers. This involves creating sales orders and return purchase orders for correct tracking and updating of inventory systems.
  • Contact customers for outstanding order pickups.
  • Contact vendors as needed for pricing, purchasing issues, status of sales orders.
  • Provides exceptional professional customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Assist in picking orders that need to go to alterations, third party vendors or direct to the customer for shipping.
  • Assist warehouse personnel with large orders and/or other assigned projects.
  • Assist with putting away new inventory and keeping the warehouse neat and organized.
  • Participate in cycle counts in the showroom as determined by branch manager.
  • Aide in the troubleshooting of any inventory needs or conflicts.
  • Assist with alterations as needed. This includes removing existing patches for replacements, removing hems for a new hem length, and the fitting and cutting of Velcro.
  • Complies with all Witmer Public Safety Group Policies and Procedures.
  • Performs any other duties or projects assigned by the management team.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Must have 3-5 years of experience Law Enforcement & Fire and/or Fire/Law Enforcement sales.
  • Must have 1-2 years of experience in customer service, retail sales, or order entry.
  • Must have experience with ERP/CRM System required. Net-Suite knowledge preferred.
  • Must have excellent time management; organizational; problem-solving; and listening skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Outlook/Teams).
