FWG Solutions is looking for qualified individuals ready to support the 33rd Network Warfare Squadron (NWS) Defensive Cyber Operations Team at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, TX. The 33rd NWS has a storied history dating back to World War II. The 33rd NWS serves as the US Air Force’s principal network defense element under the 16th Air Force’s Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) mission. Being an active part of this unit means monitoring, securing, and protecting Air Force and Central Command global networks, ensuring network integrity, reliability, availability, confidentiality and responding to hostile network threats and attacks.

The Infrastructure Technician will support the 33rd Network Warfare Squadron Defensive Cyber Operations Team onsite at Lackland Air Force Base. This position will be an active part of this unit and will be responsible for monitoring, securing, and protecting the Air Force and Central Command global networks by installing, troubleshooting, and managing all infrastructure technology and devices. This role will also respond to critical outages in a timely manner with accurate documentation and escalation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, and manage all Infrastructure technologies and devices. Functions include services for the s central management systems, operational networks, and the training network, geographically separated infrastructure equipment and AOL (Alternate Operating Location) network infrastructures
  • Ensure that Infrastructure Services include performance of administrative maintenance and configuration and troubleshooting actions on a variety of commercial network management software suites
  • Support upgrades and perform troubleshooting and daily maintenance of hardware and software consisting of Cisco GUI and CLI operating systems, infrastructure integrations, fiber- channel switches, storage area networks (SAN), TACLANE’s, fiber optic media, fiber- channel connectivity, gigabit Ethernet, 100BaseT network operations, and other network and computer components
  • Ensure network infrastructure devices are secure, have the latest software patches installed, and are properly configured to established standards to minimize the potential of unauthorized intrusions
  • Perform infrastructure device configuration backups monthly, or as changes occur on mission critical systems, for same day recovery
  • Utilize approved trouble ticketing systems to document all Infrastructure maintenance actions, user account actions and other user/system support
  • Respond to CRITICAL network outages within 60 minutes or a PRIORITY network outage within three hours of notification
  • Notify COR and Government shift lead of a system Hazardous Condition (HAZCON) situation or unscheduled outage within 15 minutes of discovery, and update IAW 33 NWS approved procedures
  • Maintain accurate trouble tickets with no more than three instances per quarter in which trouble tickets documenting who, what, when, and fix actions are not opened within 24 hours of initiation and closed within 24 hours of completion
  • Provide all recommended fixes to include enhanced network infrastructure devices and transmission media information to the COR or Government shift lead
  • Develop and maintain training documentation, processes, checklists, and logs for support; within 90 days of discovery of the need for all tasks associated with Infrastructure Services
  • Support missions by participating in meeting, planning conferences, weapon system reviews, PMO deployment and other collaborative efforts, as required
  • Travel to perform maintenance and installation, as requested
  • Other duties as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications:
Education:
  • High School Degree Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience

Licenses & Certifications:
  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • Required to have one of the following IAT Level II certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP – or an IAT Level III certification: CASP+ CE, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, or CCNP Security
  • Required to have one of the following IAT CSSP certifications for Infrastructure Support: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND
  • Possession of the following certifications:CCNA
  • Experience:
  • Required minimum of three to five (3-5) of relevant experience; DoD experience preferred
  • Required minimum of five (5) years’ experience in information technology work and knowledge in infrastructure, networking, cloud, and converged networks
Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to identify the differences between and resolve hardware and software issues
  • Network troubleshooting basics
  • Knowledgebase of installing and managing software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to hold yourself and others accountable on short-term and long-term goals
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Understanding of Intel-based computers using Microsoft based operating systems
  • Ability to work with various levels of personnel including senior leadership
  • Use of Microsoft Office software applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Other:
  • Ability to work 0600-1800, 7-days a week, with emergency recall available after hours, and at the 102 COS 0700-1730, Tuesday-Friday, with emergency recall and drill support available after hours

$80,000 - $100,000 a year
