Amcor Little Chute is seeking an Electromechanical Technician to support maintenance of all machinery in the facility.

Shift Schedule:

12 Hour Nights - Days working:

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Night One Week and

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Night the other.

*Must also be willing to work overtime when projects require, or work demand is high.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Responsible for following all plant and department specific safety rules, procedures, and programs. Wearing all required personal protective equipment for all plant, department, and task specific requirements.
  • Review all SDS’s for chemicals prior to initial use.
  • Responsible for reporting all injuries, near misses and property damage incidents to the Manager prior to the end of the shift on the day of the incident.
  • Provides daily maintenance for the plant, performs mechanical, electrical, and preventive (PM) maintenance functions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic systems.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Repair pumps, blowers, drives, heaters, dies, gearboxes and PLC’s.
  • Disassemble, clean and reassemble production machinery.
  • Comply with all 5S and CI initiatives (Cross Training, moving to the work).
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
  • Practices safety at all times in compliance with company safety mission and philosophy, including following lock-out/tag-out, fall protection, and confined space entry procedures and proper PPE worn at all times.
  • Ensures that personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools are in safe, proper working condition.

Awareness of and adherence to all Corporate and Site Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures, including Food Safety.

  • Use SAP on a daily basis for assigned work information, parts searches and ordering, work order confirmations and creating work orders.
  • Plans and implements, including work with outside contractors.
  • Plans modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications of local/national electric codes; uses/follows design specifications to properly install new equipment; calculates loads of equipment for proper installation.
  • Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceiling, and flooring.
  • Installs control and distribution equipment such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels.
  • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assemble, and installs electrical conduit and pulls wiring through conduit.
  • Programs/troubleshoots and works on PLC logic, AC/DC drives, and other control and power systems.
  • Uses electrical test instruments including multimeter, megger, ammeter, to troubleshoot/repair equipment.
  • Evaluates and returns instruments for repair and calibration.
  • Operates forklift; adheres to all plant and equipment safety requirements;
  • Performs preventative maintenance as scheduled and all project work as assigned.
  • Adheres to plant housekeeping requirements and follows all good manufacturing practices and adheres to all Food Safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow all plant and department safety rules and procedures.
  • Is an active participant and member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and other teams such as the ergo team, fire team, and do not touch team.
  • Actively pursue world class metrics in the maintenance department.
  • Troubleshoots repairs and lubricates machines and equipment including hydraulic pneumatic and welding-related repairs.
  • Performs preventative maintenance as scheduled, including cleaning and changing air filters and lubrication of equipment.
  • Read blueprints and schematics to determine repair procedures.
  • Dismantles and moves machinery and equipment as well as assembles and installs equipment.
  • Performs pipe fitting and related jobs.
  • Operates shop equipment safely and efficiently to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
  • Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
  • Utilizes and maintains department Performance Control System (PCS) board with items such as scheduling, open orders down time and breakdown analysis reports.
  • Responsible for communication between shifts using tools such as the SAP system, PCS board, e-mail and verbal communication.
  • Communication with internal customers both in and outside of the maintenance department including but not limited to managers, supervisors and employees using e-mail, written and verbal methods.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing and Prerequisite Program requirements to ensure safe food packaging.
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish your work assignments.
  • Keep up-to-date technically and consistently apply knowledge to daily tasks.
  • Adheres to Amcor core values and actively contributes to a high-performance culture.
  • Comply with all 5S, Cleaning, Lubrication, Inspection & Tightening (CILT) requirements.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area and toolbox; follows good housekeeping practices.
  • Trains other employees on maintenance tasks and job duties. Working closely with and training new employees and trainees.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Maintains a positive team attitude at work.

WHAT WE VALUE

  • A two-year associate Electro-mechanical degree or Industrial Maintenance Certificate with a wide variety of Mechanical and Electrical classes along with 2 – 3 years of experience in a manufacturing area preferably working with the maintenance team.
  • Strong communication and team skills necessary in working with equipment suppliers and contractors and in sharing project information with internal departments.
  • Basic knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft software, including Word and Excel and SAP. Necessary to fill out and distribute thorough order confirmations and reports.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills to effectively contribute to executing projects.
  • Strong knowledge of technical concepts and practices as they relate to Amcor Flexible Packaging manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills to effectively contribute to executing projects.
  • Strong knowledge of technical concepts and practices as they relate to Amcor manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with suppliers and supplier’s equipment and how it fits Amcor requirements.
  • Able to work in high stress/ high demand situations
  • Knowledgeable in Electrical and mechanical theories including rigging, pneumatic and hydraulic systems control and power distribution systems in AC and DC systems, Trouble shooting skills, PLC programming and troubleshooting skills, knowledge and understanding of motors and drives.
  • Willingness to attend training sessions to gain further knowledge pertaining to job duties.
