Danone North American is hiring experienced Maintenance Mechanics based in our West Jordan, Utah manufacturing facility.

Here at the West Jordan Danone plant, we make yogurt products like Danimals, Activia, Wallaby! We even made yogurt for Chick-Fil-A!

Job Details for Maintenance Mechanics:

• Adheres to safety, health, & environmental (SHE) standards & policies by taking personal responsibility to prevent injury/illness to oneself & others from exposure to hazards. Follows all permit procedures including but not limited to lock-out/tag-out (LOTO), confined space, arc flash & work at heights as required.
• Daily utilizes computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document maintenance activities including time spent, parts used, & description of work performed, abnormalities identified & follow-up actions as needed.
• Performs maintenance activities – preventative, corrective, breakdown & work orders to improve equipment performance, reliability & product quality in a timely manner.
• Uses reasoning & analysis to troubleshoot equipment & parts failures to improve equipment performance during maintenance activities as well as by participating in focused improvement activities.

Essential Skills for Maintenance Mechanics:

• Demonstrates a strong competency in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic & hydraulics.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Ability to use powered industrial equipment - i.e. forklift, scissor lift, pallet jack, etc.
• Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, electrical drawings/schematics, blueprints, & procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports, SOP’s & correspondence as well as speak effectively to employees/customers.
• Strong mathematical skills to calculate, compute, resolve, interpret, & to formulate for problem solving. Thorough understanding of mechanical procedures as related to manufacturing maintenance applications.
• Maintains a strong knowledge of machine functions, equipment safety hazards, power source, stored energy, pinch points, & possesses experienced welding skills.

Education & Requirements for Maintenance Mechanics:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• MUST HAVE 1 to 2+ years of Maintenance Mechanic/Industrial Mechanic experience in a Warehouse/Manufacturing type environment.
• Welding skills.
