Incident Management SME

Job Summary:

ValidaTek is seeking a talented Incident Management SME to support an enterprising program with our DISA customer. The performance expectations will be the following:

  • Manage the lifecycle of all problems (average 25-30 monthly), i.e.., unknown cause of one or more incidents, and shall continuously analyze trend data of systems, capabilities, costs, flexibility, performance, and reliability of existing infrastructure and identify operational gaps. The expected outcomes of the gap analyses are recommended solutions that will improve capabilities and performance for IT services and minimize disruptions to end users.
  • Support the primary objectives of problem management, which are to prevent problems and resulting incidents from happening, to eliminate recurring incidents, to assist in identifying weaknesses in processes, to propose applicable resolutions, and to minimize the impact of incidents that cannot be prevented by identifying weaknesses or errors in the infrastructure, workstations, VDI, remote platforms, and any other remote device.
  • Provide for Problem Categorization and Prioritization.
  • Provide Problem Diagnosis and Resolution.
  • Ensure that the details of the problem are recorded for a full historic record.
  • Develop and maintain a Knowledge base of all problem management incidents in a Known Error Record Database.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering, computer information systems, telecommunications, or management information systems, and 5+ recent years of incident management experience within DoD environments.
  • Information Assurance (IA) Certification: DoDI 8570 IAT II certification. (Security+ CE< CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP)
  • Computing Environment (CE) Certification: Recent and relevant technical certification.
  • Experience in analyzing possible solution designs flaws, identifying problems current and trending and document proposed solutions.
  • Knowledge in determining and identifying high level functional and technical requirements to properly understand potential and realized problems in the environment.
  • Experience working with Senior IT administrators and engineers to perform analysis on problems within the environment.
  • Knowledge of current server technology to include cloud computing, Blade Server, enterprise storage, unified communications, and virtualization technology.
  • Technical capabilities should include knowledge of Active Directory (group policies, group permissions, deployment of and troubleshooting) and knowledge of CAC/PKI and DNS/DHCP/WINS and how they integrate in the Active Directory infrastructure.
  • Experience in Windows environment on Server 2008, Server 2012, and Windows 7 and/or Windows 10 operating systems environments.
  • Possess IT engineering/Problem Management certification (i.e., ITIL)
  • Demonstrated ability for oral and written communication with the highest levels of management.
