In-Home Special Ed 4th Grade K-6 & 10th Grade SAT Prep Tutor - Morrisville Job at Grade Potential Tutoring

Grade Potential Tutoring Morrisville, NC 27560

About

I have an immediate need for an in-home special ed 4th grade K-6 & 10th grade SAT Math test prep tutor in Morrisville. The students are brothers. Mom is asking for a tutor who has experience teaching and/or working with autistic students as both students are high functioning autistic. She would prefer one tutor for both students but is okay with two tutors.

The younger brother is in 4th grade attending Carpenter Elementary. He needs to work with a tutor for math and ELA. He is doing pretty well, but does have high functioning autism, and has some weak points.

The student wants to work with a tutor to improve on multi step math problems. Sometimes he goes to go too fast and misses points in the problems. With ELA he sometimes has problems with comprehending the timelines of things, and struggles with the intro, middle and conclusion. The goal for this student are for him to get up to grade level and to where his peers are at.

The older brother is in 10th grade attending Screen Hope High School. He needs to work with a tutor for SAT Math test prep and general assistance on other subjects if needed. For SAT Math prep, he does pretty well, as far as the math. But he does get stuck with some areas, and needs some support.

The student would like to work on test taking strategies, how to get faster at comprehending the questions, and get the highest score as possible. He does have an IEP due to high functioning autism, but he's still slow at comprehending the questions.

The goal for this student is for him to improve with math and be ready for the SAT. Mom says this student is more laid back and is lacking confidence. She would like the tutor to be positive and motivational & at times give him a little push.

Mom would like if the tutor can bring materials to the first session for the 4th grader and recommend materials for future sessions.

Mom wants 1 hour sessions twice a week for the 4th grader as well as 1 hour sessions twice a week for the 10th grader. So for both students that is 1 hour 4 times a week. They are available Monday through Friday from 3pm-7pm as well as Saturday from 11am-4pm.
