POSITION SUMMARY

The Image Retoucher will be responsible for the retouching of all product and promotional photography used in print and on the websites for all RealTruck brands. This position will utilize digital manipulation to maintain a high standard of consistency, accuracy, and quality associated with our brands. This role will work directly with the Producers and the Director of Visual Media to consult on production needs and interface directly with the Visual Media team to ensure projects stay on schedule and to spec.

CORE FUNCTIONS

• Perform various photo edits on vehicle and vehicle accessory images shot both in studio and on location. This will include importing RAW photos, assigning keywords and other metadata in accordance with established standards, performing color and tonal edits and composites, applying creative edits, making animated GIFS, and removing blemishes and reflections.

• Collaborate with Producers and the design team throughout the creative process to ensure flawless execution of final output. Work directly with Photographers to capture the shot needed for an optimized edit.

• Lead and oversee the work of contract Retouchers, ensuring the final product supports brand style and meets quality expectations.

• Support Photography in adhering to processes and procedures with other Production Artists and the rest of the marketing team.

• Maintain an ongoing understanding and awareness of brand style guide specifications; notify Producers if deliverables don’t adhere to current brand standards.

• Maintain best practices in file management, asset management, server organization, and version control.

• Prioritize projects to maintain deadlines and quality control.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

• High school diploma is required. Associates degree or more advanced degree preferred.

• 5+ years of experience is required.

• Experience with automotive retouching is required.

• Portrait retouching is required.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

• Expert-level photo retouching skills (compositing, color correction, etc.)

• Deep understanding of file formats and asset preparation across disciplines.

• Basic Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel).

• Ability to effectively use project management software.

• Excellent eye for color. Ability to color correct and match to maintain brand look.

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Proven technical acumen and technical curiosity.

• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of photo retouching principles, practices, and trends.

• Demonstrable expertise in color perception and correction.

• Project management skills: ability to perform project management tasks.

Travel

• Occasional travel may be required.

Visual Acuity

• The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
