    Title: Teacher, IB Coordinator II

    Under general supervision, supports staff in developing and improving learning opportunities for students through comprehensive International Baccalaureate (IB) & Advanced Placement (AP) curriculum development and providing resources and training to support and improve the implementation of the specialized instructional programs..

    Essential Functions:

    The following duties are representative for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Tasks and responsibilities will be in concurrence with implementing the Strategic Plan. Other duties may be required and assigned.
    • Assists with the development, evaluation and implementation of the curriculum as appropriate. Arranges collaborative writing and planning sessions with coordinators and teacher groups
    • Develops prioritized budgets, requisitions, orders, and tracks the entire purchasing process from start to finish for the school’s IB training and material needs
    • Ensures overall fidelity of implementation of IB programs through continuous monitoring, engagement of stakeholders, model lessons, professional learning communities, and classroom observations
    • Collaborates with other district level departments and school-based administrators to plan appropriate professional learning opportunities for teachers
    • Interprets assessment results at the school level; uses assessment results to improve the instructional program; collaborates with administration in the development and implementation of instructional plans to meet student needs; provides technical assistance to school-based staff
    • Maintains knowledge of current relevant federal and state educational issues with consideration of the implication of these issues on the IB and AP programs
    • Maintains compliance with all budget related rules, regulations, and legal requirements
    • Prepares and conducts presentations for schools and communities
    • Develops programs and procedures to improve implementation of the IB and AP programs; develops and evaluates current IB and AP programs for effectiveness and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and mandates
    • Collaborates with other administrators within and external to the school system relative to effective IB and AP education practices
    • Works to resolve instructional issues then conducts appropriate briefings with appropriate district and school-based staff
    • Directs, organizes, implements and administers special projects as directed
    • Serves as District’s representative for IB and AP at local, state and federal meetings and conferences
    • Performs other duties as assigned



    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
    • Master’s degree from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university is required. Minimum five (5) years of relevant IB and/or AP teaching experience required. Leadership experience, preferred. If no school administration experience is held, five (5) years of progressive managerial/administrative level experience in a related industry field is required

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PERMITS:
    Requires either a valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved certificate in educational leadership at level L-5, NL-5, PL-6 or in content area at T-5 or above. If a level L-5, NL-5, PL-6 or above certificate is not held, the individual must be eligible for the NPL certificate in educational leadership.
