West Virginia University Research Office is currently accepting applications for a Hybrid Full Stack Web Developer in the Energy Institute - National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC).

About the Opportunity

As a Full Stack Web Developer, you will develop full-stack web applications that aim to provide better access to alternative fuel vehicle/electric vehicle educational materials and professional networking for NAFTC member schools across the country. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborative web development, such as feature implementation, document uploading and management, bug fixing, and hardening security across web projects and web servers.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop full-stack mobile first web applications for an online resource application.
  • Upload and manage web app content.
  • Review, repair, and maintain NAFTC web pages, manage databases, ensure website security.
  • Assist with learning management systems, e.g., setting up and maintaining courses, verifying user records, and troubleshooting user accounts.
  • Work can be done in-person in the office at the NRCCE Building or remotely; schedules are flexible and self-determined.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software development, software engineering, management of information systems, or related field or equivalent education and experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of directly related experience in full stack web development.
  • Demonstrated experience with at least one high-level programming language such as PHP, C#, Python, JavaScript, or similar.
  • Experience with relational databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clean and maintainable code.
  • Experience with version control (GitHub).
  • Experience with content management systems (WordPress, Drupal, or similar).
  • Highly desirable experience in the following:
    • Working in a production environment and with MVC architectural pattern.
    • Knowledge of agile development principles and methodologies.
    • Demonstrated experience developing full-stack web applications (LAMP stacks/Laravel) and with the React JS Library.
    • Mobile app development.
