PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Content Producer at one of the following offices: Tysons, Virginia; San Patricio, Puerto Rico; or San Antonio, Texas. The primary purpose of this job is to raise national visibility of PenFed Credit Union and The PenFed Foundation through social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. This role will manage projects from beginning to end and requires a strong ability to shoot and edit photos and video. The Content Producer will collaborate with the Manager of Content Production and the Director of Creative Content to produce compelling and inspiring work that makes an impact on our target audience.

Responsibilities

  • Shoot, edit and produce photo and video content for social platforms.
  • Work closely with Social Media Specialist to get produced content captioned and scheduled in a timely manner.
  • Plan all aspects of content creation, including but not limited to booking travel, conducting on camera interviews, shooting, writing scripts, editing, and creating graphics, as needed.
  • Assist the team with incoming requests for PenFed Digital.
  • Develop content strategies, monitor social trends and present new ideas.
  • Utilize photography and videography that uses a range of equipment, from a DSLR camera to a cell phone.
  • Actively seek content for our weekly franchises, including #PenFedPurpose (highlighting our community service), #FeelGoodFriday and #MemorialMonday, and attempt to leverage trends.
  • Represent PenFed Digital at special events as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.


  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, preferably in digital media, marketing or communications.
  • Minimum of two (2) years in social media creation.
  • Deep knowledge of social media best practices and current trends.
  • Excellent writing skills required. Social copy experience preferred.
  • Ideal candidate is a team player with a positive attitude, highly organized, eager to learn and able to perform well under pressure and with frequent deadlines.
  • Understanding of and passion for the military is a plus.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe Lightroom preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • There are no additional certifications required.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. Additionally, office space will be shared with a PenFed sponsored service dog in training.

*Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.*

Travel

Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
