Job Description

This position will report directly to the President. This individual will be responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function. This individual will be skilled in managing compensation, benefits, recognition, training, performance management and employee relations in a manner that retains staff members long-term and builds our employer brand. This position will oversee following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, on-boarding, policy implementation, and employment law/compliance.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Experience with creating a culture of engagement, collaboration and teamwork
  • Oversee departmental budget by planning, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
  • Bridging management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances and other issues
  • Partners with the leadership team to understand, support and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning along with employee engagement, motivation, and development.
  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organization
  • Nurture a positive working environment
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains and updates job descriptions as necessary. Keeps job descriptions up-to-date, accurate and compliant with relevant federal, state and local laws for all positions
  • Manages and monitors the annual performance evaluation program and other talent initiatives such as KEP Assessment, Succession Planning and Individual Development Plans (IDP) that drives high performance.
  • Ensures all employees are familiar with their job responsibilities, as well as relevant legal and safety requirements
  • Develops, recommend and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures
  • Implements and promotes a cultures of safety and creates awareness on anti-bribery/corruption.
  • Advocate the company's commitment to Quality, Heath, Safety & Environment.
  • Handle full spectrum of HR management duties which include recruitment and selection, salary administration, performance management, welfare administration and industrial relations.
  • Works closely with the broker to organize and coordinate open enrollment meetings, and communicating changes in benefit plans
  • Assists with any audits by preparing reports and providing data requested
  • Manages talent acquisition process, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring and onboarding. Works with recruitment agencies, posts on job boards and attends recruitment events to create traction
  • Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Regularly complete an internal audit of employees files and Form I-9 to ensure compliance
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars.
  • Maintains organizational charts and employee directory
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Provide information to employees and escalate issues to firm Benefits team as necessary
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and the Leave Program Administrator on FMLA and short-term disability matters for business services employees
  • Oversee submission of workers' compensation claims

Qualification and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required
  • Minimum 5 + years relevant experience in Human Resources Manager/Director role for a medium to large size company
  • Minimum 12 + years relevant experience in Human Resources activities
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Ability to identify issues and find solutions to problems before they become unmanageable
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in written and verbal communication
  • Customer- focused attitude
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Payroll and Benefits including but not limited to: 401K, FSA, HSA, and Section 125
  • Expertise in HR policies and procedures

Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected as requested.
