At Charleston County Parks, our mission is to improve the quality of life in Charleston County by offering a diverse system of park facilities, programs, and services. Our Human Resources Aide plays a vital role in supporting this mission and the Human Resources Division at Charleston County Parks by ensuring we are supporting prospective and existing staff in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner. This position is responsible for providing customer service support, data entry into the HRIS, assisting with the agency's onboarding program, providing information for incoming employment verifications and other administrative duties. This position does requires some nights and weekends to meet deadlines during high hiring seasons.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists with part time position changes such as salary, reclassifications, additional positions, and termination requests.
  • Assists with the agency's onboarding program which includes; but not limited to, submitting hiring proposals, sending electronic background forms, scheduling drug tests, completing E-Verify submissions and enrolling new staff into the South Carolina Retirement System.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR division and employees regarding human resources related activities.
  • Monitors Human Resources email inbox and interoffice mailbox.
  • Assists with submitting monthly SC New Hire and EEO reports.
  • Collects data and responds to employment verifications in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Organizes employee records in HRIS and paper files.
  • Sends out birthday and sympathy cards to staff.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Must pass a drug test and a criminal background check
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of computers and software in Windows environment (Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word
  • Knowledge to plan and organize projects in a timely manner or with short notice
  • High school Diploma or GED required and two years administrative or clerical work experienced preferred

Working Conditions
This position requires work indoors in an office environment but is eligible for CCPRC’s remote work agreement which allows work to be performed at an alternative offsite workspace.
