The Tradesmen Group, LLC is seeking an exceptionally organized and self-motivated Human Resources Manager to join our team in support of developing and growing TTG and affiliated company Tradesmen Crane & Equipment LLC (TCE) to the next level through theimplementation of optimal HR policies, procedures, recruiting, and employee retention. TTG & TCE recently converted to 100% employee ownership (ESOP) and as such are seeking to grow both companies over the next decade. Candidate must be a self-starter and self-directed in oversight, execution, and management of all aspects of TTG’s & TCE’s HR with an emphasis on recruiting over a wide geographic area and across a broad range of trade and professional level positions for both companies that are needed now and with future growth of the company. With headquarters in Plain City OH, outside of Columbus, and company yards/shops serving business in Nashville TN and Washington DC, the HR Manger can be located anywhere in the U.S with the ability to travel as may be needed to serve company duties. Candidate must have a minimum 10 years demonstrated experience successfully working in HR in the construction industry and must be fully versed & knowledgeable in all applicable laws and regulations in governance of company HR operations.

As a full-service building rehabilitation/restoration company, TTG self-performs multiple trades including all aspects of historic masonry restoration, roofing, architectural metals, carpentry, painting & more. Affiliated company TCE provides crane rental services, equipment rental, scaffold erection & dismantle and rental services, and specialized rigging and hauling services.

HR MANAGER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage staffing processes for both companies, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding
  • Ensure job descriptions and listings are up to date and compliant with all local, state and federal regulations
  • Develop and implement training materials and performance management programs to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities and have advancement opportunities through company sponsored training
  • Manage and create compensation strategy for all employees based on market research and pay surveys; keeps the strategy up to date and in-line with company costs/revenues
  • Investigate employee issues and conflicts and bring them to resolution
  • Ensure the organization’s compliance with local, state and federal regulations
  • Use performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to team
  • Ensure all company HR policies are applied consistently
  • Maintain company organization charts and employee directory
  • Partner with management to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives
  • Maintain HR systems and processes
  • Conduct performance and salary reviews in coordination with management and supervisory teams
  • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits and keep the company ahead of the trends
  • Design and implement employee retention strategies
  • Other duties as needed in management of company operations related to HR

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 4-year degree in human resources or related field preferred but not required (or commensurate experience in human resources as described herein)
  • Ten (10) years of demonstrated experience as a HR Manager working in the construction industry
  • Ability to faithfully and fully conduct all described duties & responsibilities in representation of the company
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including abilities for advanced technical writing and ability to give verbal presentations in front of an audience
  • Willingness to undergo a background check & drug screen
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience; Proficient in using personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, data bases and word processing documents; willingness to take assessment skill tests which may include, but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office365, Dropbox, and FTP
  • Exceptional planning and analytical skills
