Summary

The Youth Center Housekeeper is responsible for performing routine housekeeping work including custodial and maintenance work.

A person in this position is expected to demonstrate the system of care practice model, which maximizes all resources around an individual or family. This system of care includes child and adult serving agencies and community partners that join with an individual or family to meet their goals.


This job requires the following documents to be obtained, reviewed as acceptable by the supervisor and re-obtained every five years: PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal History and FBI Criminal History.

A criminal background check is required.

Essential Duties

  • Clean, dust and scrub floors and walls.
  • Clean and dust furniture and equipment.
  • Replenish all necessary paper supplies in bathrooms and offices.
  • Empty all wastepaper baskets and transfer bagged trash to outside bins.
  • Distribute cleaning supplies to janitorial closets.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks including but not limited to lawn care, and use of all custodial equipment.
  • Responsible for snow removal at doorways and exits.
  • Perform other duties, tasks and special projects, as required.

Qualifications/Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Qualifications / Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Ability to read and comprehend the names of schedules, chemicals and directions.
  • Ability to run certain machinery for cleaning purposes.
  • Ability to work independently and proceed with objectives.
  • Ability to carry tasks to completion.
  • Ability to remain focused on daily operations.
  • Basic organizational skills.
  • General maintenance experience.

  • Ability to use common sense understanding to carry out written or verbal instructions.
