HIM - Specialist Job at McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center
Job Summary:
The HIM Specialist participates as a member of the Health Information Management Department by performing technical and specialized medical record functions in an accurate, timely and complete manner. These duties involve a combination of the following and are not limited to: answer phones and direct calls appropriately, retrieving charts from patient specific clinical areas, managing documents and/or records in a compliant manner, prepping records to reduce redundancy in the EMR, scanning and indexing charts for the EMR (electronic medical record) system. All specialists must demonstrate the ability to provide qualitative and quantitative analysis and reanalysis of all patient disciplines, are responsible for answering the telephone as needed, follow up on requests, assisting physicians as needed.
Educational/Licensing:
- High School diploma
- Coursework in medical record practices preferred
Qualifications:
- Previous hospital medical record experience strongly preferred
Experience
Preferred- 2 year(s): Prefer previous experience in a Medical Record Department, Physician Office or General Office experience
Education
Required- High School or better
