Overview

Elam Construction / Peak Ready-mix in Grand Junction, Colorado is seeking qualified heavy equipment and truck mechanic.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Performing preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Inspecting equipment to locate the source of problems or malfunctions, using diagnostic tools such as computerized engine scanners
• Maintaining and repairing vehicles with diesel engines, including trucks, mixer trucks, trailers and off-road equipment.
• Performing preventive maintenance and DOT checks on equipment to ensure that it is safe, running properly and efficiently
• Diagnosing malfunctions in engine, drivetrain and implement operation, including diagnosing problems with electrical, fuel systems and emissions,
• Installing and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic components such as pumps, filters, accumulators, and cylinders used in construction, mining equipment.
• Drive and operate a non-CDL service truck with a crane.

Skills & Experience

• Previous welding experience.
• Previous experience as a mechanic.
• Previous experience with construction equipment repairs
• Previous diesel engine repair
• Be willing to travel to remote gravel pits and batch plants.
• Be willing to work overtime.
• Experience with cement mixer trucks preferred but not required.
