The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has an exciting career opportunity to serve as a Health Data Coordinator in the Emergency Preparedness Unit of our Public Health Division.

This position will to help to implement and support Juvare Emergency Preparedness Software and project management for the unit. This software program will assist with future emergencies and preparedness activities similar to those following COVID 19.

Examples of Work
In this position you will serve as system administrator of the Juvare Software System and provide a variety of technical system support to the Emergency Preparedness unit. Other duties:

  • Work with Juvare to ensure all system updates are implemented successfully, perform system troubleshooting and maintenance; research, recommend, and implement product/software upgrades and expansions

  • Develop and update Juvare dashboard according to unit and stakeholder needs/feedback and unit priorities.

  • Develop, monitor, and maintain Juvare system integrity protocols; manage and grant user access.

  • Develop, plan, organizes and conduct orientation and individual training sessions and materials to all internal and external users to Juvare and for each module for which the user is granted access.

  • Develop and implement the Juvare and related IT system protocols and procedures. Ensure proper integration of related interfaces.

  • Evaluate education and training activities/materials from feedback received and recommend/implement revisions as warranted to ensure the participant needs have been fulfilled.

  • Determine human, financial, and physical resources available to be used toward education activities.

  • Write project proposals and applications to obtain Federal grant funding for community health education projects

  • Maintains Emergency Preparedness & Response intranet site; organize and update the Bioterrorism Drive.

  • Performs Quality Assurance analysis to ensure software is working properly.

  • Analyzes the quality of data in datasets to determine potential issues, shortcomings, and errors. Conduct root cause analysis to identify, correct, and prevent future errors; provide relevant justification to support determination.

  • Monitors key performance indicators toward program progress; update, identify, and report key performance indicators on a monthly or as needed basis.

  • Monitor, track, report data variances/anomalies: incorrect trend change, negative outcomes, or volatile change in data.

  • Prepares periodic program and/or administrative data reports, summaries, projections, and/or forecasts to meet assessment requirements of on-going program, fiscal analysis, or other evaluation needs for continuity through intradepartment collaborations.

  • Confers with internal and external stakeholders to present findings, conclusions, recommendations, and forecasts of statistical analyses

  • Project management for the Emergency Preparedness and Response Unit as assigned by supervisor, e.g. policy and process research and development; dashboard development and implementation; content development for internal and external education and communications. Research projects and programs to develop instructional materials to meet programmatic goals and objectives.
Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMETNS: Master's degree in Statistics or related field and one year experience in statistics, data collection, data management or related area OR Bachelor's degree in Statistics or related field plus three years experience in any of the above or related area.

PREFERRED: Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or related degree and 1-3 years of experience in any of the above or related areas.
