Head of Supply Chain Excellence and Sustainability


YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES



The primary responsibilities of this role, Head of Supply Chain Excellence and Sustainability, are to:

  • Build and direct a system-based way of working for the Luling site, incorporated into the existing Bayer IT infrastructure;
  • Develop and manage a support network ensuring seamless operations, including but not limited to the fields of master data, month-end closing activities, planning systems and SC (Supply Chain) visibility;
  • Direct all visual management activities both for the SC group as well as selected other groups at the site, focusing on establishing a predictive approach to SC management;
  • Establish the Luling SC sustainability strategy, develop and execute a roadmap for all of the sites SC activities (including international transports) in order to support and match Bayer’s sustainability targets;
  • Maximize the productivity of the supply chain process, identify opportunities to continuously improve the site supply chain processes and realize cost savings;
  • Design and lead the implementation of logistics improvement models/projects, support global SC projects and steer local implementation thereof;
  • Direct the inventory management efforts by setting up sound processes to track and report inventory flow and levels.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field;
  • Excellent knowledge of integrated production scheduling in large-scale chemical manufacturing plants, intimate knowledge of Logistics Operations (Railroads, Ocean, Inland Waterway, Truck and Storage) Bulk Liquid Operations and proven track record in digitalization projects;
  • Innovative mindset with passion for processes and organizational improvements;
  • Technical knowledge in process improvement (Lean,6 Sigma,etc);
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations surrounding the transportation and warehousing of dangerous goods;
  • Strong leadership and ability to network, collaborate and influence diverse groups and cross functional teams;
  • Proficiency in SAP and MS Office Applications;
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively and promptly with all levels of the organization, supporting department objectives and management decisions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum successful 10 years or MBA/MS with 7 years of track record in a manufacturing/supply chain organization, with 2-3 years of people management experience.
