Community Access Services is currently hiring for a full-time Group Home Caregiver / Area Relief DSP to assist our clients with intellectual disabilities at our Columbia County, OR location. This caregiving position earns a competitive wage of $23/hour.

DAY-TO-DAY

This entry-level caregiver position with our social services nonprofit offers a full-time schedule. Full-time is typically 4 to 5 shifts per week with the possibility of additional shifts if needed. An AR DSP will receive a 2-4 tentative week work schedule prior to the beginning of a month and at mid-month if scheduling is occurring on a 2 week basis. Scheduled shifts are subject to change as needed to provide adequate coverage in designated work locations.

As a member of the Group Home Area Relief / Companion Care Staff, you are responsible for supporting people with disabilities and helping them live their best lives as independently as possible. You travel between group homes to provide support in several locations. The activities of daily living you help with include personal hygiene, self-care, motor skills, vocational skills, work habits, social skills, behavior self-management, community integration, and recreational activities. In addition, you help implement the individual support plan (ISP) daily objectives in the homes of our clients and in the community.

The clients with intellectual disabilities you serve may have mobility issues, health problems, seizure disorders, psychiatric issues, or challenging behaviors, but you take it all in stride. You use effective teaching and mentoring techniques to assist them with patience, understanding, and life skills training. By modeling appropriate behavior, you also teach them necessary social skills. Using your strong organizational skills, you maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation as well as promptly report any concerns about health or safety. You find it extremely rewarding to help individuals with developmental disabilities lead self-fulfilling lives in this caregiver position!

REQUIREMENTS FOR A GROUP HOME CAREGIVER / AREA RELIEF DSP
