Historic Hudson Valley (HHV) is a Westchester-based cultural non-profit that welcomes visitors to five National Historic Landmarks, including Philipsburg Manor, Washington Irving’s Sunnyside, and Kykuit, the Rockefeller Estate. HHV offers an array of K-12 school programs, public tours, and seasonal festivals including the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze. The organization has a national reputation for groundbreaking on-site educational programs and award-winning digital content in the content areas of Northern colonial enslavement, regional women’s history, and storytelling.
Historic Hudson Valley seeks a candidate with seasoned landscaping skills to join the Buildings, Grounds & Security Department.
The Part Time Groundskeeper provides hands-on assistance to the Buildings, Grounds & Security Department. Reporting to the Landscape Manager, and through collaboration with other departmental staff, the Part Time Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining historic landscapes across Historic Hudson Valley’s Westchester County sites and Headquarters. The Groundskeeper will assist with seasonally dependent maintenance (i.e., spring planting, fall leaf clean up, winter snow removal, etc.)
Successful candidates will have demonstrated an ability in:
  • Landscape maintenance with a solid background of landscape related work experience.
  • Professionalism, punctuality, and reliability
  • Working in a team setting or working independently
  • Working conditions include exposure to all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.), daily physical labor, and potential exposure to pesticides and other chemicals.
This is a part-time, on-site position, based in Westchester County, NY. Evening, weekend, and holiday hours are required during the fall.
