Job Description
Expanding medical equipment manufacturing company is seeking a full-time experienced grinder sander operator responsible for grinding, sanding, and polishing objects made out of wood, metal and plastic. Uses cloth, hand tools, and power tools to ensure a smooth surface. Inspects for flaws or cracks.
Job Description
- Grind, sand and/or file grooved, contoured, and irregular surfaces of metal objects, such as machined parts, to conform to specifications.
- Grind, sand, clean, or polish objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing or powder coating, using hand tools and power tools
- Load and adjust work pieces onto equipment or work tables, using hand tools.
- Move controls to adjust, start, or stop equipment during grinding and polishing processes.
Requirements:
· Individual must be able to stand in one place for long periods of times.
· Must be able to work independently.
· Must be able to use such tools as: hand sanders and grinders, buffers and single sheets of sand paper.
· Must have attention to detail and be able to inspect items based on established quality standards.
· Ability to follow instructions and work orders.
· Must be able to occasionally lift 20 lbs. in repetition.
· Must adhere to set safety guidelines and wear proper PPE.
· May perform other duties in other departments as assigned by management
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
