Role description

The grants manager (part-time ) is responsible for helping us stay on track with grant applications, won grants, relationships with granting agencies, and relationships with our academic partners. This is an opportunity to be shoulder-to-shoulder with both our technical and commercial leadership. This work will also develop and validate new branches of engineering and science. What does success look like in this role?

• Curiosity about and willingness to master concepts in medicine, biology, chemistry, and physics
• Comfortable working with the company’s technical and commercial leadership to identify and prioritize grant opportunities
• Manage and own relationships with external partners including academic partners (preclinical research scientists and academic clinicians) and federal grant program officers
• Prepare federal (NIH, NSF, DOD, etc), state and foundation grant proposals, including writing, budgeting, and proposal submission
• Familiarity with NIH grants (SBIRs, R01s, U01s, etc) is a must
• Develop budgets and budget justifications and preparing additional materials
• Strong communication abilities to ensure that the team delivers against goals of won grants
• Deep appreciation of Gantt charts and calendared work

• Background in biology, chemistry, and/or physics to the masters or doctorate level
• Prior experience writing and submitting winning grant proposals for the NIH
• An instinct for project management

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $20,000.00 - $32,000.00 per year
