Who We are Looking For:

OmniSync is a fast-paced startup, in which high-quality work is conducted within a performance-based, flat hierarchy, and creative brainstorming-driven environment. We are looking for someone to join our grant and contract support team as a mid-senior level Grants and Contracts Specialist, who will be helping innovators first-hand in preparing SBIR/STTR and other types of grant and contract proposals to be submitted to various funding agencies.

The right candidate will have multiple consulting and strategy calls with our startup clients, assist them in completing action items required to succeed on our systems, and support the service team with overall project management. The candidate will have excellent customer service, proposal writing, and idea-development skills. Our company uses advanced workflow automation software to heavily streamline the process, and so the person will also need to excel at rapidly picking up the use of tools such as workflow systems (think TurboTax-like software), the MS Office, Google suite as well as file-sharing and PDF manipulation software, requiring little-to-no training/spoon-feeding.

Responsibilities

  • Consult and prepare SBIR/STTR and other types of grant and contract funding proposals collaboratively with our client startups.
  • Understand and keep up to date with industry and domain-specific knowledge.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills over teleconferencing apps like Zoom, MS Teams, Google Hangout etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and generally good with quickly learning how to use software tools.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Maintain projects and troubleshoot any technical problems.
  • Track and record metrics throughout the process.
  • Be independent, resourceful, and proactive, requiring minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Meet and exceed client expectations and goals.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. with experience in both research (any area of science/tech)
  • Scientific and technical written publications, prior hands-on research experience
  • Performed peer grant reviews to ensure high standards.
  • Demonstrable interest in industry and customer relationship building activities.
