Astellas is announcing a Global Brand Lead: Image-guided Precision Surgery Program opportunity. This position is based in Northbrook, Illinois. Purpose:

The Brand Lead is a Senior Leader in the Rx+BA Commercial Group, leading a team that builds, shapes and implements a competitive insight-driven strategy driving continuous growth of the Image-guided precision surgery Program (Business Accelerating Program: BAP 03 A5354). Main scope of this position is to both manage the co-creation process with listed countries creating brand strategy, Lifecycle management strategy and to drive implementation of the global brand strategy in listed countries, ensuring continuous growth of BAP03 A5354.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead to create the global brand strategy of BAP03 A5354.

  • Lead a team of marketers located in the countries where the product will be launched in charge of supporting countries in their localisation and operationalisation of the global strategy.

  • Lead the cross functional co-creation process with prioritized countries, leading to the creation of insight-based strategies, including development of global messages, positioning, core campaigns and LCM including LoE strategy.

  • Uncover actionable patient and competitive insights, provide input and direction to market research.

  • Translate scientific & market insights and competitive findings into business recommendations that deliver current and future success for the brand.

  • Drive best practice sharing across countries in relation to the brand

  • Implement above-country tactics promotional tools, International congresses, core content for LCM, advertisement etc. to maximise product sales potential.

  • Provide timely, country-based and customer's insight to cross-functional global team meetings such as Global Brand Team (GBT)

  • Review affiliate-level, regional functional plans, highlighting potential deviations from the global strategy

  • Ensure constant dialog with Brand team leads in prioritized countries, ensuring appropriate localisation of the brand strategy and operational excellence and track performance

  • Contribute to cross-functional global team meetings such as Global Brand Team (GBT) to optimize strategies. The GBT's purpose is to own the asset commercialization strategy, create and drive the product launch and life cycle management, monitor performance of the asset.

  • Ensure launches are optimized following Astellas' launch excellence approach, best practices are shared.

  • Prepare and implement internal and external stakeholder communication and engagement strategy.

  • Participate in translation of global brand strategy into tactics and regional/ affiliate level resource planning.

  • Embed Compliance Culture across all Regions of the business ensuring Integrity in Action is actively applied in all initiatives.

  • Ensure Marketing Function(s) strictly adopt a culture of ethics and compliance; leading by example and appropriately challenging non-compliance.

  • Ensure adherence to Astellas policies relating to Ethics and Compliance standards and interactions with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), Healthcare Organisations (HCOs) and Patient Organisations (POs).

  • Global Brand Lead will be a core member of Global Brand Team and Joint Commercial Committee.

  • Global Brand Lead will call/chair the GBT meeting, Joint Commercial Committee and other strategic meetings.

  • Other such duties as may be reasonably required by the business.

  • applied in all initiatives. Ensure Quality Assurance Function(s) strictly adopt a culture of ethics and compliance; leading by

  • example and appropriately challenging non-compliance. Ensure adherence to Astellas policies relating to Ethics and Compliance standards and interactions

  • with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), Healthcare Organizations (HCOs) and Patient Organizations (POs).

Mandatory Compliance requirements:

To be aware of Astellas' Group Code of Conduct and associated policies and procedures and other applicable laws, codes and regulations.

Clarify and seek guidance as required, and raise any concerns, in a timely manner, with relevant manager; which may include reference to the Ethics and Compliance Team and/or Ethics and Compliance Helpdesk.

Undertake and comply with relevant mandatory Ethics and Compliance training and updates to maintain personal awareness; all training to be undertaken in a timely manner.

Quantitative Dimensions:

  • Role has global remit.

  • Global Brand lead will have oversight of BAP03 A5354.

  • Global business at peak sales is in the range of 200-400million USD.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • TA expertise, strong communication skills, and strong leadership in matrix organization.

  • Pharma sector experience with strong customer focus; in multi-disciplinary, matrix and cross-cultural settings.

  • Track-record of leading multi-year strategic planning process: strategic, organizational and problem-solving history to deliver sustained results.

  • Proven healthcare compliance expertise; to understand and comply with industry laws and regulations.

  • Proven leadership and people management experience including commitment to develop, coach and enable high performance standards.

  • Proven ability to influence diverse senior stakeholders.

  • Fluent in written and verbal business English

  • Post graduate qualification such as MBA and/or MSc or equivalent is highly desirable.

  • Prior country launch experience preferred.
