Job Description
General Description:

This position will assist Trades Tech with installations, minor maintenance. P-14 will assist with repairs of some electrical and carpentry to include drywall work on campus buildings. To include snow removal and any other duties as assigned by Facilities Manager.

Duties and Tasks:
  • Duties include assisting Trades Technician with minor installations and maintenance duties on campus.
  • To include snow removal and any other duties as assigned by Facilities Manager.


Essential Functions:
  • Perform minor maintenance work, assist with troubleshooting and repairs as described above, support emergency operations.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.



KSA's/Required Qualifications
KSAs:
  • Required KSAs: Knowledge of principles and best practices of maintenance.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold weather for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to perform manual labor and to lift 75 pounds when needed
  • Ability to work at heights using ladders
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft office suite.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Possesses critical thinking skills.
  • Possesses good physical strength.
  • Possesses good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of building systems and facilities maintenance.
  • Team Player


Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Participated in a high school trades program
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license and good driving record.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Graduation from a high school trades program
  • Experience performing building trades work.
