Pret is growing and we are looking for amazing and inspirational General Managers to join our team!

As the General Manager, you are the first in command and have a true sense of ownership over your shop. You will manage the operational performance, grow your business, develop fantastic teams, promote change, and be a gatekeeper of Pret knowledge and standards. You will report to one of our Operations Managers. As a General Manager,

You Will:

• Build a robust team through the development of your team
• Promote Team Happiness by role modelling Pret’s Values and Behaviors by bringing Joy of Pret and fun to the team and customers
• You will effectively manage, delegate, and multitask to ensure your team is well equipped to handle any new challenges
• Take corrective action immediately on issues that affect customers, the team, or sales
• Be responsible for: Decision Making, P&L, Process Improvement, COGS, Labor/Scheduling/Payroll, Inventory/Waste
• Drive sales and profit through the Big 4 (Forecasting, Rota, Ordering & Production)
• Manage new initiatives and scheduled launches within the restaurant while instilling an entrepreneurial spirit in your team to keep them excited and engaged
• Be the Ambassador of Change; communicate with the team through daily team briefs, staff meetings, and one-on-one's
• Manage recruitment needs for your shop by proactively interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new hires
• Love fresh food! You’re excited to jump in the kitchen!
• Have strong communication skills- transparency is key
• Be service focused, ensuring our customers have a great experience: passion for hospitality
• Achieve and maintain Department of Health Standards, holding your team accountable and role-modeling cleanliness from your tactics organizing the kitchen and all stations
• Be a team and culture builder, coach, mentor and focus on succession planning

Qualifications:

• 3 or more years of General Manager experience (Fast Casual Experience preferred)
• An achiever who has a strong sense for operations and is driven by results
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-volume environment
• Financial skills and capacity to analyze P&L statements, understand labor and food costs
• Experience managing and developing 20+ employees per shift
• The willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in whenever and wherever necessary
• Flexible work availability, including weekends and holidays
• Must possess good communication skills for dealing with diverse staff
• Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 50lbs; ability to walk up/down stairs and be standing on your feet for up to 8-10 hours per day
• NYC Food Handler’s Certificate required
