POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Fund Development Project Manager is responsible for developing relationships with and directly solicits current and potential funders and partners that lead to increased contributed revenue for the agency/organization. Collaborates with Grants Project Manager, Sr. Director of Business Development and Community Partnerships, Sr. Director of Planning and Development and Social Media Coordinator to meet organization development goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop relationships with and directly solicit current and potential funders and partners that lead to increased contributed revenue for the agency/organization
  • Be accountable for agency/organization's development goals and donor communication
  • Work closely with VP of Finance to cultivate donor relationships and other partnerships leading to a more robust annual giving the program
  • Works collaboratively with Grants Project Manager, Sr. Director of Business Development and Community Partnerships, Sr. Director of Planning and Development, and Social Media Coordinator to ensure organization wide adherence to Phoenix House branding guidelines.
  • Manage participation of Senior Leadership Team in development activities
  • Works with VP of Finance and the Development team to implement strategic development plan that supports the organization's priorities including growth and sustainability
  • Works with VP of Finance and the Develop team to manage budget
  • Manage the progress of the annual campaign by developing and maintaining regular management reports. Recommend plans to address emergent gaps.
  • Responsible for maintaining foundations data and files, including the foundation prospect/proposal tracking system, writing funder briefs and keeping up-to-date donation histories on foundation and corporation prospects and donors.
  • Develop and manage capital campaign.
  • Attends all required staff training sessions in accordance with Phoenix House and state licensing requirements, completes all training on time
  • Attends and participates in program and all staff meetings
  • Adheres to and promotes the Phoenix House Mission, Vision, and Values while acting as a role model for others
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS

  • Bachelor's degree required , preferably in marketing, fund development or related discipline
  • Master's degree preferred but not required
  • Minimum 2-4 years of direct related experience, preferably in a development department of a non-profit organization
  • Proven track record of achieving fund development goals; including major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations
  • Must maintain a valid California Drivers' License, have proof of automobile insurance and maintain a safe driving record based on Phoenix House policy

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in MS Office systems
  • Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing, with demonstrated ability to create clear and persuasive communications in both traditional and digital formats
  • Familiarity with donor tracking systems.
  • Resourcefulness, creativity, and strong program-solving skills
  • Ability to measure data and outcomes of events to determine marketing effectiveness
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to make decisions independently and communicate effectively when dealing with community and board members
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and with many diverse populations
  • Ability to model positive behavior and demeanor
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
