Job Description: This is a great opportunity for a self-starter who is willing to work hard and use creativity and a positive attitude to do your job! While the below description includes some of what this individual may be asked to do, this job is a new role and one in which a hard working, team player can grow professionally and creatively.

Answer phones:

  • Screen and intake new clients
  • Schedule new and existing clients
  • Take messages and refer client calls
  • Perform patient intake including verifying necessary information in the medical records system and performing registration functions
  • Schedule patients via office scheduling policies and confirm appointment times as well as educate patients on Drishti’s services and impact
  • Add, cancel or make changes to appointments in the master schedule
  • Speak with clients over the phone to schedule, remind, or follow up on appointments
  • Answer and screen in-bound calls, take messages, and provide appropriate information as well as handling outgoing phone calls as appropriate
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to identify key concerns, deescalate conversations, and solve problems

Payment liaison:

  • Clearly communicate fee schedule and payment options
  • Have understanding of medical insurance in order to work with clients to answer their questions regarding billing
  • Exercise excellent judgment in providing creative solutions to client financial concerns
  • Verify insurance benefits and enter information into electronic health record

Office flow management:

  • Data entry
  • Collaboration and scheduling with community partners
  • Inventory and purchase supplies
  • Keep the office appearing professional and maintain a hands-on approach to ensuring a positive client experience

General Expectations:

  • Respect the privacy and confidentiality of individuals and their family members in a rural mental health setting while maintaining ethical standards of the professional discipline
  • Work in a busy, but casual outpatient private practice setting
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures, supporting this office’s integrity by acting in a manner that honors client, self, and the office
  • Participate in creating a client-centered, strengths-based, healing environment for individuals who seek care
  • Excellent time management and independence
  • Most importantly, act with kindness and respect in all interactions, modeling and maintaining the values and culture of our team

Office Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a DHS background check
  • Must be willing to comply with State OAR 333-019-1010 (Vaccination Requirement). This office is considered a medical practice and therefore is under the State vaccination requirement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a clinic or hospital setting fulfilling customer service and administrative tasks
  • Exceptional phone and interpersonal skills with the ability to show compassion, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions
  • Ability to problem solve and deescalate issues; Capacity to embrace complex problems and generate effective solutions in a timely manner
  • Ability to explain Drishti’s services effectively to current and prospective clients
  • Computer efficiency and experience using an electronic health record

Must be able to pass a Department of Human Services employment background check. Must be vaccinated or willing to become fully vaccinated per OHA rule 333-019-1010: COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement for Healthcare Providers and Healthcare Staff in Healthcare Setting.

Pay: Starting wage is $22/hour.
