The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager within our Abbott Rapid Diagnostics business located at Lake Forest, IL. The successful person will have experience working with business-support positions in Multinational environments. Abbott Rapid Diagnostics (formerly Alere) is part of Abbott’s Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.

What You’ll Work On

The ideal candidate will have experience with financial and/or Accounting supervisory roles, with strong people and communication skills and ability to interact with diverse and senior levels of the organization. Ability to analyze and interpret financial figures and explain implications of numbers to the business.

  • Coordinate the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) process for the IDEM Business Unit (BU), including annual Plan, quarterly LBEs, and various reporting and analysis in support of the business.

  • Lead consolidation, data review, book preparation and ensure integrity and accuracy of all data is maintained.

  • Ensure a robust planning system in area to meet BU and Division requirements, recommend improvements to process to ensure efficient and timely results

  • Provide financial guidance to commercial affiliates/plants in the preparation of the revenue and operating budget planning and all relevant reporting requirements.

  • Ensure reporting requirements to BU, Division, and Corporate are met in accordance with established calendars and timelines.

  • Lead the consolidation, monthly reporting and analysis of BU (IDEM) financials

  • Perform standard margin analysis to ensure actuals are accurately reported and forecasts are appropriate.

  • Prepare and submit bi-weekly sales funnel updates for BU to Division.

  • Prepare monthly financials for BU deck for S&OP meeting.

    Consolidate, review, and report Margin and Profitability updates to BU leadership on a quarterly basis.

  • Ensure action taken on follow up items for Monthly finance meetings.

  • Perform other Ad-hoc tasks as required by Area, Division, Corporate.

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. Support affiliates in activities related to accounting policies and procedures, consistent with General Accepted Accounting Practices and AI policies, Corporate Financial Procedures, and sound business practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of experience in Financial Analysis, Planning or Reporting role in Multinational company environments.

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance or similar area
