Worcester Cultural Academy Charter Public School seeks a talented educator to serve as an English as a second/additional language (ESL) teacher to serve grades K-4. We are looking for culturally competent candidates that possess experience working as educators in diverse schools with English Language Learners and students with IEPs. Gather and analyze data to track student progressAdminister a language screener for bilingual students for whom a language barrier is impeding their academic success.Model appropriate English communication for the purpose of developing students ability to communicate effectively in the English language.Push into the general education classroom to support teachers in delivering Sheltered Content Instruction.Model culturally responsive teaching practices.

Develop and implement a rigorous curriculum that helps ELL students to build academic and content-area language and vocabulary. Collaborate with classroom teachers in integrating the WIDA English Language Proficiency Standards into content area instruction and in identifying ways in which students at all levels of English development can be supported in the content areas.Administer screenings for students to determine placement and the ACCESS assessment to measure English Language Development.Join Our Adult CrewAt Worcester Cultural Academy, our faculty and staff collaborate and support one another and our students through a number of school-wide activities, events and celebrations. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and participate in these events, ranging from student and family orientation activities to celebrations of learning to graduation. We work together to support the safe and happy arrival and dismissal of our students, collaborate and plan together and use data to guide decision-making.

School-wide professional meetings happen before the start of the school year and throughout.
