Due to promotion, we are currently seeking a Fleet Services Coordinator at our Kemps Plant in Minneapolis, MN. In this position you will be responsible for assuring operational economies and efficiencies of repairs/maintenance for the Minneapolis centered fleet operations; these fleets include Minneapolis Milk, Minneapolis DC, and other satellite locations. The combined fleet size plus the necessity of providing timely, high quality customer service require consistent, careful attention to fleet equipment. The Fleet Coordinator position must work closely with drivers, distribution management and third-party service providers to ensure that the transportation equipment is in safe, compliant, and operable condition at all times, and that expenses to repair and maintenance are maintained within budget.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and approve all vendor vehicle repair/maintenance invoices, Minneapolis Milk, MPLS DC and satellite locations' fleets.
  • Coordinate repair/maintenance schedules between fleets and vendors to assure equipment availability for timely route departures.
  • Develop and coordinate emergency repair procedures; this must include regular route situations as well as evenings and weekends.
  • Review Samsara ELD system for tracking DVIR's done daily by drivers and coordinate with vendors for repairs.
  • Respond and repair and or service equipment as needed.
  • Establish on-site inspection and repair procedures for third party service providers at Minneapolis, MPLS DC as well as satellite locations.
  • Monitor preventative maintenance programs and schedules in cooperation with primary service provider(s) and distribution manager; this will include a monthly expense report review, by vehicle, to identify problem equipment.
  • Recommend changes and/or improvements in existing repair/maintenance programs and assist in their implementation. One specific area is the review of driver housekeeping of vehicle interiors.
  • Assist distribution management in identifying and reviewing specifications in ordering new equipment to be replaced each year. Assist in putting new equipment into service at various DFA and Kemps branches as well as old equipment disposal.
  • Involvement in other vehicle related matters.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a Vocational school program in truck and diesel mechanics preferred
  • 3-5 years related experience preferred (in truck and diesel mechanics)
  • Class A CDL – preferred, not required
  • Strong knowledge of fleet service requirements including vehicle mechanics, computer preventative maintenance programs and distribution practices
  • Knowledge of Federal D.O.T. Regulations
  • Ability to influence and lead people and processes
