Full-time position available with the General Services Department, Fleet Operations Division located at 5300 Municipal Ave
Salary Range: $5,794-$8,833/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the administrator of a large division with the supervision of highly complex operations as assigned
  • Supervises the fuel program deployment, associated processes and technical personnel required to assure continuity of fuel services
  • Directs activities and provides backup for Fleet IT Specialist
  • Supervises third-party parts operations and monitors compliance with contractual agreements associated with our storeroom processes
  • Acts as the category manager for fuel and storeroom services, doing monthly financial reconciliation and budgeting/spend analysis, overseeing a nominal $15M budget annually
  • Compiles fiscal, inventory and operational reporting pertinent to fleet and fuel operations including compilation of monthly internal invoicing
  • Evaluates parts expenditure trends to assure proper seasonal supply of commodities and lowest cost
  • Controls on-hand inventory levels and Min/Max order points for the vendor
  • Performs ongoing fiscal, statistical and expenditure analysis for the division to assure trends and anticipate impact
  • Acts as principal internal contact person for Fleet-related duties pertinent to Telematics devices and solutions and Fuel-master Fuel system interfacing. Fuel operations demanding an on-call status

Qualifications


REQUIRES high school graduation and 5 years of experience at the journeyman level in light or heavy duty automotive equipment repair and maintenance work, including 2 years of experience in supervision over a large group of skilled workers engaged in light and heavy duty automotive equipment repair and maintenance work. Must possess a valid State-issued driver’s license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies. Must possess a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) Class A, B or C issued by the state of Missouri prior to the end of the employee’s probationary period. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.

Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
