Products and solutions

New York Life provides a range of products, including life insurance, annuities, long-term care insurance, disability income insurance, and investment products such as mutual funds1 through our broker-dealer arm, NYLIFE Securities LLC (member of FINRA and SIPC), a Licensed Insurance Agency, ensuring that the solutions you develop with your clients can help them and their families achieve their financial goals. You’ll also be able to specialize and gain expertise in different areas, such as by becoming a financial advisor with Eagle Strategies LLC, our investment advisory division, to offer wealth management and advisory services, estate planning strategies, and business solutions.

How we will compensate you.

You have the power to determine your own income with our commission-based compensation. In 2021, the average income of our agents under the N8 and N9 Agent’s Contract who met annual minimum sales production requirements was $124,000. Individual agent performance will determine your income. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as a 401(k) and pension.

Compensation:

$70,000 - $105,000 yearly

Responsibilities:

What is expected of our Agents?

  • Ability to understand the needs and financial concerns of clients.
  • Ability to educate clients on how to plan ahead for the future financially so that they are prepared for unfortunate life events/ circumstances they may encounter
  • Cultivating relationships, with a view to helping every family member or individual pursue financial security
  • Ability to build an insurance and financial practice through establishing professional networks and prospecting for new clients. Providing compassion and guidance to clients when unfortunate life circumstances arise.
  • Having a clear focus on developing and maintaining long-term bonds with clients, resulting in trust and continuity of community over time.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is provided to existing clients; track and monitor communications in the client file, including strategies and financial advice given
  • Design customized financial plans suitable for each client based on potential life changes and changing financial needs
  • Synthesize and present financial recommendations and strategies that are suitable based on client risk tolerance and financial objectives
  • Seek, identify, and approach new prospects continuously and establish strong relationships with new clients as their trusted advisor


Qualifications:

Qualities that we look for in our Agents:

  • Sales experience preferred – enterprising mindset
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Desire to help families and businesses to “Be Good At Life.”
  • Strong business acumen. Professional business demeanor.
  • Perseverance in the face of a challenge
  • Ability to engage your community and leverage personal networks/contacts
  • Current professional license CPA, or CFP (Certified Financial Planner license from Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards) and FINRA Series 7 and 66, is required
  • BCRM, analytics, and marketing automation tools prowess is essential
  • 1-2 years of experience in a digital marketing specialist role, entry-level marketing, B2B, life insurance, or similar role in the insurance industry is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Marketing and Sales Experience is required
