Financial Advisors are part of the Affinity team and help improve the financial lives of members and the communities that Affinity serves. They provide suitable investment and insurance advice to clients to assist them in achieving their financial objectives.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interview and advise Affinity members on investment and insurance products and services:
  • Invest time with potential clients to fully understand their entire financial picture, needs and goals which includes insured and uninsured product holding
  • Open customer accounts, initiate and confirm customer orders, maintain customer files and records, and prepare all required reports.
  • Maintain all information related to customer accounts in strict confidence.
  • Invest appropriate amount of time to nurture, coach and recognize various CU referrals sources, such as branch, MSC and CUMAnet employees and external relationships.
  • Engage in sales activities through an integrated marketing program, including branch training and relationship development, telephone solicitation, individual and group presentations, direct mail and email programs, follow-up calling and other prospecting methods.
  • Keep up-to-date regarding changes in services, products and policies of AIS, INVEST and other outside vendors, as needed.
  • Refer customers to the Credit Union as per pre-defined goals and objectives.


Regulatory Responsibilities

  • Act as a registered representative and licensed insurance agent for INVEST
  • Perform duties in accordance with AIS and INVEST procedures
  • Strictly adhere to all rules, regulations and reporting requirements of FINRA and the SEC
  • Comply with all applicable state and federal insurance laws & regulations
  • Maintain sales logs and other compliance-required records & documentation


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree, 5 plus years of related experience required.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Series 7 and 66 (or Series 63 and 65); life/health insurance license
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to build relationships with customers and branch personnel
  • Able to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Professional appearance
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the desire to be part of a team
  • Knowledge of DNA Core System (i.e., cView) preferred
