Category Finance Manager, Bread Buns & Rolls (BBR)

We are currently seeking a Bread, Buns, and Rolls (BBR) Category Finance Manager Finance on our Category and Brand Finance team. Our goal is to create visibility, insights, and strategic plans to sustainably grow our Category and Brands. The Category Finance Manager plays a critical role in analyzing performance of three key categories in BBU.

This position reports directly to the BBR Category Finance Director and interacts with the broader BBR Category team. It includes interaction with the VP & GM of Bread, Buns, and Rolls as well as the broader BBU & Category organization.

They will be a critical business partner and plays a big part of helping understand category performance as well as chart the forward strategy for the business. This role has 1 direct report.

As Category Finance Manager you will:

  • Partner with the Category Leadership team to provide finance support for strategic priorities including innovation/new products, make vs buy production decisions, revenue and P&L projections, marketing investment trade-offs, etc.
  • Communicate Category & Brand financial and competitive results including sales trends, P&L analysis, share performance, and variance analysis (Price, Vol, Mix)
  • Identify ways to manage costs and enhance earnings, and effectively communicate those findings and insights partnering with Category teams.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Innovation, R&D, Copack, Manufacturing, Logistics, and RGM/Pricing on Innovation including assessing the commercial opportunity/size of prize, advising on pricing and marketing support, and developing the forward-looking P&L to wholistically determine viability of the innovation
  • Assist in forecasting the Category and Brand Sales through Profit by capturing category trends, key growth initiatives, and innovation to help BBU plan and prioritize our broader business
  • Create weekly, periodic and quarterly financial reporting packages
  • Support Marketing FP&A team in marketing budget control, tracking and forecasting as needed
  • Support and create meeting materials across the company including for Senior Leadership
  • Ad hoc support for strategic planning and business case analysis to support the category
  • Lead and develop less experienced associates

Preferred Experience and Qualification

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required.
  • CPG, Food Service or DSD experience preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 6 years of progressive finance experience required preferably with experience in Commercial, Sales, and/or Brand Finance.
  • Financial modeling and analytics knowledge required; general accounting knowledge preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Oracle Financials and leveraging business intelligence systems. Intermediate/Strong MS Excel modeling and data management capabilities.
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills along with MS Powerpoint presentation skills.
  • IRI experience and understanding a plus.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
