About the role:

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Field Service Technician to join our team in Duluth, GA. This role provides field service for commissioning, warranty evaluation, repair and support services for the WEG Energy products, Motors and Generators.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical resource for the installation, startup, and commissioning of Large Motors and Generators.
  • Serve as a technical resource for routine maintenance on Large Motors and Generators.
  • May provide technical expertise and guidance for the repair of Large Motors and Generators.
  • As needed, assist with warranty evaluation to determine whether a specific field service activity falls under a WEG warranty agreement.
  • As appropriate, coordinate work efforts with an Authorized Service Center in the USA.
  • Demonstrate a functional understanding of industrial applications in order to be able to support the WEG Energy products being used within the environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand customers’ internal processes in order to be able to support the WEG products being used within the environment.
  • Exhibit effective customer service skills, projecting a positive corporate image.
  • Thoroughly document on-site conditions at a customer location, which includes taking appropriate photographs, gathering any necessary drawings and schematics, and being able to write a comprehensive field service report that documents activities performed by WEG personnel and can be referenced at a later time, as needed.
  • Upon completing activities at a customer site, effectively establish expectations for any follow-up activities with the
    customers and the WEG internal teams.
  • Promote the sale of spare parts and maintenance programs for Large Motors and Generators installed at the customers' job sites.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Education:

  • High School or GED required. Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Knowledge / training:

  • Installation, Commissioning and Troubleshooting of Large Induction Motors.
  • Installation, Commissioning and Troubleshooting of Large Synchronous Machines.
  • Commissioning of Liquid Rheostat Starters.
  • Commissioning of Lube Oil Systems.
  • Use of Vibration Analyzer.
  • Use of Power Analyzer.
  • Adjustment of instruments assembled on the Motors and Generators.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience of related experience.
