Position Description

Advertised Job Summary
This position is located in Greenville, SC
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Faculty Affairs & Development, the project manager is responsible for planning, analysis, implementation and introduction of projects in support of the professional development activities of the UofSC School of Medicine Greenville (SOMG) Office of Faculty Affairs. Collaborates with department leaders within the School and across the Prisma Health enterprise to gather information and develop work plans and support professional development activities for faculty of the medical school. Responsible to plan, initiate, manage, monitor, and evaluate faculty development projects. Maintains and communicates reports of project status, manages the project change process, manages expectations, and identifies opportunities for follow-up work or new projects. Escalates issues that impact scope, timing, or budget to Leadership and works with them to obtain additional resources as needed during project lifecycle. Performs operational and financial analyses as needed to evaluate and operationalize assigned projects. Prepares findings into summaries and documents suitable for presentation. Represents Faculty Affairs and SOMG leadership in meetings as needed to ensure continued execution and communication of project objectives. Will facilitate, coordinate and manage special projects and have oversight responsibilities for administrative and programmatic operations primarily of faculty and professional development activities, and with other operational areas within the SOMG as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Training and experience in project management skills. PMP or CMP certifications strongly preferred. Master’s degree in related field, ideally with 4-8 years of experience
  • Relevant experience with State Agency, University procedures and policies and guidelines.
  • Training or experience in principles of teaching and learning; implementation of evidence-based approaches toward quality improvement
  • Relevant experience with Health system/university faculty/staff administration

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Recognizes how university and corporate culture impact the success of the project; knows how to use organization to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to collaborate with constituents at varying levels of the organization.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrates commitment to advancing the mission/vision/guiding principles of USCSOM Greenville/GHS in setting priorities and conducting work.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to teamwork, self-awareness, professionalism, open/transparent communication, and servant leadership.
