Job Summary:

Perform fitting and fabrication tasks in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.

Required Responsibilities:

  • Operate fabrication equipment to include, but not limited to: Saw, drill press, shear, punch and hand tools.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on associated equipment.
  • Forklift and /or aisle stacker use to transport/relocate inventory or product.
  • Demonstrated understanding of all established Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining established inventory replenishment systems such as kan-ban, VMI, or CMI.
  • Communicate and coordinate part shortages with Supervisor and/or Team Leader.
  • Assist Supervisor and/or Team Leader in maintaining inventory accuracy and maintaining 5-S program.
  • Follow all safety and PPE requirements per established company policies.
  • Maintain a neat and clean work area.
  • Focus on continuous improvements within the Company.

Advanced Responsibilities:

  • A demonstrated command of all required responsibilities.
  • Create and implement improved operational processes to reduce cost, improve quality, and increase through-put using strong problem-solving skills.
  • Train new employees by developing and utilizing sound interpersonal skills.
  • Assist the engineering team in both product development and improvement projects by developing and applying an acquired technical skill set.
  • Cycle Counting and inventory control responsibilities.
  • Perform accurate and timely Job, Receiving, or Inventory-control transactions using Oracle system.
  • Facilitate specific VMI or CMI assignments.
  • Ability to coordinate and oversee full machinery setup including mounting systems.

Specialized Responsibilities:

  • Assist with basic testing of equipment under the direction and control of a qualified PDQ tester.
  • Control of Machine Tool Programs.

Education Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Applicable technical training or experience is preferred for advanced assignments.

Experience Requirements:

  • Blueprint reading skills are required.
  • Must possess the ability to apply basic math skills, specifically with fractions and decimals.
  • Must possess strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Quality Responsibilities:

  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process and quality systems.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Pressure test assemblies.
  • Inspection of welds.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to normal office conditions like telephone, personal computer, reports and files. The employee will also be exposed to normal conditions of a manufacturing facility. The employee will be regularly required to talk or hear. The employee will be required to stand for long periods of time. The employee will use his/her hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will frequently lift, carry or otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly. When working on machinery, employee will bend, stoop and crouch on a regular basis and constantly move about to coordinate work. The employee is required to regularly set up, adjust, assemble, control, test and operate machinery.
