Position Summary:

Moves inventory and runs crane in a safe and efficient manner. Crane operator will operate a crane in a safe manner via handheld remote to load and unload trucks. As well as providing all machines with coils to keep production going.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to operate crane in a safe manner via handheld remote
  • Unloads and loads trucks
  • Provides machines with coils to keep production going
  • Locates finished goods and raw materials in computer system via scan gun.
  • Fills out and turns in a Daily Inspection Report of operations and conditions of crane.
  • Maintain coil storage area.
  • Crane Operator must be able to perform all Essential Duties and Responsibilities other positions related to the operation of the crane including Productions Locator, Receiving Material Handler. The Crane Operator may be required to perform these duties at various times to maintain production workflow and product quality.

Other duties:

  • This position does have leadership responsibilities this includes coordinating the activities of the members of the receiving team by; providing information on the requirements of inventory control, directing the receiving team, maintaining consistent flow of work through the Receiving area, being concerned for the safety of receiving team members and being concerned about the general housekeeping of the receiving area.
  • The Crane Operator may be required to assist in the training of new Crane operators or other positions related to the operation of the Receiving Department including: Production Locator and Receiving Material Handler.
  • The Crane Operator position has significant impact on the quantity and quality of the end product produced and sold to customers. The Crane Operator has significant periods of independent operation during which time the position makes decisions that impact shipping quantity and quality. Mistakes or errors of job performance can be costly to the company and the impact on customer satisfaction is significant.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Each employee is periodically reviewed and evaluated for feedback on job performance and the need for additional training requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
