PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

The Cook, under the supervision of the Director of Food Service, will prepare meals for residents, maintain space cleanliness, and perform other duties as directed. The Cook is responsible for ware washing; postproduction and meal service.

- Create a safe environment for residents, staff and guests at all times

- Prepare batch meals according to the recipes and serve them in timely fashion

- Plate the food in an attractive manner, and serve it within the dietary restriction of each resident

- Properly store food according to regulations

- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Food Service or Administrator

QUALIFICATIONS

- Must be at least 18 years of age

- High School graduate, or equivalency, is preferred

- Able to speak and read English

- Experience preferred in preparing meals in an institutional setting (will train appropriate applicant)

- Basic understanding of nutrition for seniors

- Able to work in high pressure situations

- Have patience and ability to work with seniors who have dementia

- Able to work with co-workers and create a team approach to project a positive image of Cedar Creek

- Obtain a criminal record clearance, acceptable health screening, and TB clearance prior to employment

- Able to prove legal residence or right to work in the United States

- Must be COVID-19 vaccinated + Bivalent booster

An equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities may be considered in place of listed minimum requirements.
