Position Title: Proposal Coordinator

Location: 12301 Kurland Drive, Houston, Texas 77034

Primary Function:
Reporting to the Manager, Procurement, this role will track engineering approval drawings and major apparatus materials for construction of electrical substations, switchyards and transmission lines.

Duties & Responsibilities

Employee may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions:

  • Responsible for tracking major apparatus approval drawings and materials purchased from vendors
  • Closely monitoring email correspondence between vendor and engineers to insure proper distribution of approval drawings.
  • Interface with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Field Service and Accounting to track high quality materials and get them onsite on time.
  • Evaluate vendor quotes and purchase orders to determine ETA for approval drawings, shipping dates, and deliveries dates.
  • Maintain relationships with materials providers and ensure materials get to job sites at the intended times for work to commence on schedule. When problems arise, work to resolve them with the supplier, project manager and construction manager.
  • Coordinate high volumes of material deliveries to various job sites
  • Track major apparatus on projects from the order entry to project close out
  • Enter crucial dates into the expediting spreadsheet
  • Maintain filing of electronic drawings and shipping correspondence
  • Other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications / Experience

High School Diploma, or equivalent, is required. Associate's degree in supply chain management, accounting, or business is preferred. One year of office experience is required. Prior expediting experience is preferred.

Possess skills in the following areas:
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and communication skills, both verbally and written, to work effectively with co-workers, vendors and members of company management
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical data about the components of substations and transmission lines
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite with intermediate skills in Word, Excel and Outlook
Working Conditions:
  • Job is primarily performed in an office environment
  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations or as required by Dashiell/Dacon
