Summary: As a key member of our public health research firm, you will support the executive staff, manage administrative functions, and track client projects. You will also collaborate with our senior scientists to edit professional documents, proposals, presentations; manage and optimize the firm’s administrative workflow. Position Description

Far Harbor designs and evaluates research initiatives that aim to improve education, maternal and child health outcomes in the US and developing countries. We seek an experienced administrative professional to assist the principal and senior staff with client projects, administrative tasks, and ad hoc activities.

The Executive Assistant / Office Manager is responsible for communicating professionally with our clients, assisting senior staff when needed, and ensuring excellence in written and visual materials. The executive assistant also manages our human resources and administrative activities including scheduling meetings, running payroll, onboarding staff, providing financial and administrative reports, and optimizing our internal processes.

Experience Required

  • 5+ years of relevant executive support experience in C- level/executive administration roles.
  • 4-year college degree (BA/BS) from accredited institution
  • Solid experience with MS Office tools: Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • 3-5-years of familiarity with PCs, cloud services, and network file systems

Skills Required

  • Able to create and manipulate varied documents and templates in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Writing and editing skills (grammar / style / readability)
  • Skilled at creating presentations with an eye for style, image placement, and consistency
  • Friendly communication skills with our researchers and non-technical audiences
  • Able to prioritize tasks and provide summarized reports
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to learn new programs and applications
  • Flexibility to adapt to the needs of a growing firm
  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to help where needed

Additional Skills/Experience Preferred

  • Deep knowledge of templates, styles, and automation within in MS Office products
  • Skills with developing and maintaining ‘brand image’ across company documents and presentations
  • Ability to see the ‘big picture’ and develop efficiencies for monthly processes
  • Capacity for editorial proofing of technical documents
  • Experience with project management and bookkeeping/invoicing
  • Financial forecasting, budgeting, and resource allocation

Compensation and Benefits

$55K - $75k / year based on experience, with annual bonus potential. Paid time off, holidays, and flex work benefits. Health insurance and 401(k) with profit-sharing contributions. Company-paid access to the on-site gym.

Far Harbor, LLC (http://farharbor.com) is a statistical consultancy established in 2000 and based in Austin, TX. The firm offers expert research and analysis consulting to a number of federal, state, and international clients. We serve public agencies and philanthropic organizations by assisting in the design and analysis of field research and population studies.

Work Location

This is a local position in our downtown Austin TX office; flex-hours and telework (Mon & Fri) are available with proficiency on projects. Our modern offices include a fitness center with showers for walking/running/biking to work. We follow CDC and city guidelines and implement policies for telework during pandemic spikes.
