Job Summary/Basic Function

Serve as an executive assistant to codirectors, MTeach coordinator, and MTeach faculty. Provide administrative office assistance for the MTeach program and perform essential tasks including: Maintain, monitor and reconcile multiple budgets including travel paperwork. Purchase office supplies and teaching materials. Monitor operational expenses. Prepare paperwork for purchasing, payroll, and travel in accordance with MTSU policies and procedures. Maintain bulletin boards. Maintain MTeach office including organizing and arrangement of materials for collaborative space. Monitor department email and answer the main department phone line. Collect and process workload paperwork for faculty members each semester. Coordinate logistics of MTeach events and provide on-site assistance to MTeach faculty for assigned events. Participate in recruitment efforts including Customs, Preview Days, and the True Blue Tour as assigned. Run data reports and create databases to track recruitment and retention. Monitor and maintain the MTeach webpage and social media including creating content for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. Design and purchase promotional items. Hire, supervise, and train student workers and adjuncts. Maintain inventory of MTeach materials including materials closet items, Vernier probe systems, laptops, and ipads. Troubleshooting and/or corresponding with ITD regarding issues with MTeach laptops and technology. Monitor student checkout/in of materials. Generate correspondence to MTeach students and mentor teachers from co-directors, coordinator, and MTeach faculty. Act as a liaison between mentor teachers and master teachers including correspondence and processing of honorarium payments. Observe and provide feedback for students practice teaching in the MTeach office. Perform other related tasks and special projects as assigned.

Required Education

High School diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) required.

Required Related Experience

Two years or progressively responsible office assistance experience required.
Note: An Associate's degree (two years of college coursework) and one year experience may be considered in lieu of work experience.

Desirable Related Experience

Prior budget/bookkeeping experience in a university or non profit setting preferred. Experience working with grant operations and event planning/organization preferred. Experience in an educational setting, as a teacher or working with teachers preferred.
