Job Description


AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist for employment in the Kenova/Huntington, WV office to support our industrial asbestos/lead/mold program
which includes inspection, design/plan, and abatement oversight. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and communication skills and experience with asbestos and/or lead surveys/inspections.

This position requires frequent travel throughout the region of WV, VA, PA, OH and KY. Trips are typically one week in duration with the ability to be home on weekends. Travel is up to 50% of the time.

Tasks will include:

  • Preparing reports and other technical documents.
  • Compiling, evaluating, and analyzing environmental data
  • Conducting asbestos surveys and abatement oversight
  • Conducting lead paint inspections
  • Conducting mold / indoor air quality surveys
  • Conducting universal and general hazard inventories surveys
  • Travel within a geographic territory conducting inspections; travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays
  • Field document preparation, field data collection, processing and interpretation


Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, or closely related field and 2+ years of experience in environmental consulting and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid driver's license
  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience with asbestos inspections, abatements, and/or designs
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER training
  • Asbestos Certifications (Inspector, Project Monitor, NIOSH 582, Supervisor and Designer)
  • Experience with Lead Paint Inspections and Indoor Air Quality Inspections
  • DOT and RCRA Training
