We are looking for a motived, entry-level Environmental Associate to join our growing team! Location flexible within the Sacramento, Bay or Fresno areas. In this position, you will work across internal teams, supporting both stormwater and environmental planning work depending on business need. This is an excellent opportunity to become familiar with environmental work and ultimately identify your career path within the environmental industry to grow in your career with us. No environmental industry experience needed – we’ll teach you what you need to know to be successful.


When supporting stormwater compliance projects, you’ll assist clients in complying with stormwater regulations and prevent pollutants from leaving the project boundary and entering our waterways. Responsibilities will include conducting site inspections to ensure Best Management Practices (BMPs) are adequate, evaluating project site for contaminant risk and working with the onsite crew to remedy any notable concerns, and conducting water quality monitoring of any water flowing offsite. Some inspections will be performed during rain events.

When supporting our environmental planning team, you’ll assist our clients in identifying environmental compliance requirements and pathways to maintain compliance and protect the environment. You will primarily support routine permitting and compliance projects under the guidance of more senior staff.


Travel and overnight travel will be required, typically with advanced notice.


Qualifications:

  • BS or BA degree, preferably in an environmental discipline, sciences, or engineering
  • General knowledge of biology, environmental compliance, cultural resources, water quality, air quality and hazardous materials
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly detail oriented and accountable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong organization skills with ability to manage concurrent responsibilities
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of basic GIS principals
