Env Services Specialized Custodian Job at Harry & David
The Environmental Services Specialized Custodian is responsible for maintaining the clean and sanitary conditions of the Harry & David campus offices, restrooms, lounges, break rooms, general production areas and building interiors. Duties include sweeping, mopping, cleaning, sanitizing, polishing, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal.
- Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing or vacuuming them.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
- High school graduate or GED certificate is preferred.
- At least 1 year experience in a custodial or similar position is preferred.
- This position requires the proper use of cleaning chemicals and solutions.
- This position requires to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Other physical requirements include walking, bending, reaching and stooping associated with sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, and mopping.
- This is a safety sensitive position, subject to initial and follow-up drug testing.
- This position requires a Background and Driver record review, valid Oregon driver's license with a good driving record.
