Engineering Technician III
City of Torrington, CT
Performs technical engineering work in the field and office related to survey, design, inspections and report preparation of engineering projects, drafting complex engineering maps and plans utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D, maintenance of engineering data and records, and a wide variety of related technical tasks. Works under the general administrative and technical direction of the Deputy Public Works Director/ City Engineer and/or the designated Supervisor. The employee is expected to perform routine tasks independently and complete projects with minimal supervision. The employee occasionally supervises other workers assigned to assist on specific jobs. Minimum Qualifications:
A.S. Civil Engineering Technology and 4 years of engineering work experience (involving land surveys, construction surveys and office computation). Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD (minimum of 2 years work experience), and ESRI GIS. Pavement management experience is an asset.
Salary:
$33.13 - $37.41 per hour (40 hour work week) with excellent benefits package.
